business

Audience: Organization admins · Applies: SaaS / private

Goal: Within the capabilities of the platform, prepare the practice policy of the institution so that teachers can arrange and students can practice the expected types.

Where is the UI?

Organization management → Main navigation SettingsSpeaking & exams (practice policy / language packs, voice identity toggles, etc.; follow the UI). How schools turn it on: Voice identity: how schools turn it on. The speaker engine is configured by the platform / ops, not on this page.

What does the practice policy govern (by impact on students)

The UI can be understood by grouping "What will happen to students" (the title copy shall be based on the Speaking & exams page):

For studentsCommon configurations
Can you practiceEnabled daily practice types, whether self-directed practice without homework is allowed, whether speaking exams are open, language pack/school level
How long to practicePlanned practice time (minutes) when the class opens; students must apply for extra time when they run out (the quota per person is not allocated on this page)
Verify yourself before taking the examVoice authentication: exam/practice switch and similarity threshold; if voice_identity_pack is missing, the entire section will be read-only and a missing package prompt will appear

Recommended configuration order

  1. Open the Platform capability/ability description and confirm that the target type has been enabled on the platform side.
  2. Enter Speaking & exams (Practice Policy), first configure Can you practice, and then configure Whether I will be tested before the test; class How long to practice fill in the planned minutes when opening the class.
  3. Set whether to allow students to practice independently when they have no homework according to teaching needs.
  4. After saving, ask a teacher to try the layout, and a student to try to enter Speaking immediately (whether it is possible to speak, whether the quota is in effect, and whether to play the voiceprint when the test starts).
  5. Then notify the teacher to set Class Practice Default.

When will it take effect after activation?

  • After the policy is saved, the newly opened layout page/exercise entry point will be displayed according to the new policy.
  • Old tasks that have been released are generally still executed according to the current configuration of the task (subject to product behavior); new tasks use new policies.
  • If you still cannot see the new type on the UI: refresh or log in again; if still not available, check the platform capability pack.
