Stage Grades: Rules and Generation
How teachers configure stage scoring rules, generate class stage grades, and explain scoring logic.

Objective: Understand the difference between "stage results" and single practice points, academic reports, and academic admin reports, and generate class transcripts according to rules.
What it is / what it is not

Contrast:
- Report → Class Status (main navigation): completion rate, overdue, student drill-down. See View Class Report.
- Reports → Export/Reports: Template preview and CSV/PDF. See academic admin Report.
- Phase Score (this article): The teacher actively generates the phase total score according to the rules.
The "scoring Agent" in the exercise link only affects how a single exercise is scored; ** does not equal ** stage score generation.
Where is the UI?
- Teacher app main navigation Report → Class Status: After selecting the class, the Stage Grading Rules panel is located below (create/publish/generate grades).
- When opening a class, you must fill in the target language, language level, and planned practice time (>0); if the scoring rules have not been published yet, you can create and publish the rules in the same screen in the activation dialog box. See First Login and Class Overview, Class Practice Time and Overtime Approval.
- There can be a template Class Stage Score Report in the report directory (preview/export the generated stage scores).
- Organization admin: Export stage scores in Data Integration → Export (the latest transcript is taken at each stage, not a single exam export).
Operation flow
- Open Report → Class Status and select the class.
- In the stage scoring panel below New stage (draft): fill in the stage name, start/end time (can be empty), scoring method, etc.
- Save the rules; after confirming that the preview of the rules is correct, publish (or "update and publish").
- Click Generate Grades: Generate transcripts according to the currently published rules and notify students.
- After generation, the rules usually become locked; if you want to change the rules, you must first unlock them as draft, then save/publish them and then regenerate them.
Status prompt (UI copywriting):

Generate logic (how to calculate)
When the task list is not manually selected, the system will automatically include the released tasks of this class according to the stage time window (if the time window is not limited, all released tasks of the class will be included). Then split by practice/exam:
- Usual tasks (non-speaking exam): Each student and each included task will get the best practice score; then calculate the average → usual score for the included daily tasks.
- Examination tasks (speaking exam): Summarize according to the Examination points aggregation in the rules → Examination points:
- Highest Score / Latest / Average Score
- Stage points (final points) are based on the scoring method:

Each student's stage score and brief formula description are usually displayed on the transcript (subject to the UI). The details of AI scoring for a single exercise/exam are beyond the scope of this article; this article only explains how to aggregate existing exercise/exam scores into stage scores.
Prerequisites and common failures
- Rules must be Published (or as allowed by the UI) before generation.
- Examination Only / Normal Days + Examination The institution must have opened the speaking exam (capability pack and practice policy); otherwise, Normal Days Only may be used.
- There must be daily tasks and/or exam tasks included in the corresponding mode, otherwise it cannot be generated.
- Transcript lines may be empty or skipped when there are no students in the class or students have been archived.
What do students think?
After the teacher generates it, students will receive on-site notifications (such as "stage results have been generated", subject to the UI). You can view the stage score of this class in My. See FAQ: Student Exercises, Messages and Notifications.
