How to choose
| Your situation | Better fit | Next step |
|---|---|---|
| Want to try quickly and validate teaching first | SaaS trial | Trial signup |
| Purchase confirmed; platform-hosted operations | SaaS subscription | Complete payment / commercial onboarding; billing: Trial expiry and go live |
| Must run in your own data center / dedicated cloud, or strong compliance | Private deploy | Prep before deploy |
| Already have a system; only need speaking practice and exams inside it | DodoSpeak Oral | What is DodoSpeak Oral · What to prepare before you start |
Terms: SaaS trial, SaaS subscription, DodoSpeak Oral. Oral’s proper name is Embedded AI Speaking Module. Longer chooser: Choose Oral, SaaS, or private deploy.
Easy to mix up
- Private deploy ≠ a private edition of Oral. Private deploy is still the full teaching product; Oral is capability embed.
- Oral ≠ iframe the whole admin console. You embed practice / tasks / History / exams.
- Oral Console learner / publisher / manager / developer ≠ App student / teacher / organization. See How to use Oral Console and Manager: settings hub, billing, and roster.
How to read the docs
- SaaS / private (full teaching product): start with the role guides (student / teacher / organization). Deploy mode does not change assign → practice → report.
- SaaS: start at Trial signup; expiry and billing: Trial expiry and go live.
- Private deploy: start at Private deployment, accept with Go-live checklist, then return to role guides. School-made content: Content & IP responsibility.
- Oral (embed): start at What is DodoSpeak Oral, then prepare → how to embed. Demo: Oral Console. Do not write Console’s four roles into the student/teacher guides.
- Data intake (teaching product only): Which intake method. Oral accounts stay in your system.
