OrganizationA school or training organization as a tenant in the system
Organization codeCode that identifies the organization at sign-in; may be hidden on a custom domain
Organization adminUsually one owner per org: directory create, import, branding, billing, practice policy; can add academic admins via Manage team. Choose Organization on the App login page
Academic adminOptional role (UI often Class admin). Created by the organization admin in Manage team with class grants. Same login choice Organization. Handles multi-class ops in scope; cannot change org policy, branding, or billing. See Manage team
Manage teamOrg admin Settings → Organization & intake → Manage team: only the organization admin can add/suspend academic admins and assign classes. See Manage team
Super adminInstance-level ops role (private or platform): Bootstrap, System register, capability map, Integration config, and more—not day-to-day classes or assignments. Short form: super admin. See Super admin and platform capabilities
BootstrapPrivate-instance init / seed readiness; view and run under super admin Deploy / Bootstrap
System registerSuper-admin entry to reconcile ENV vs DB (profiles, capability packs, and more)
Integration config (super admin)Super-admin entry to configure Data integration and email per organization; day-to-day intake: Which intake method
ClassTeaching group of teachers and students; includes a class code for import alignment
Space (student/teacher main nav)App bottom-nav Space for students and teachers: interactive face of a class. Students: suggestions/tasks (optional members/pair/challenges); teachers: space switches, privacy, and Management. Org directory still says Class. See What's in Space, Run class space
Manual create (directory)Org admin: Settings → Organization & intake; class admin: primary Classes (or Reports → Class). Source is “manual”. See Classes and teachers
Copy from selectionSelect exactly one row and copy; rewrite identity fields (email / class code). Class copy is an empty skeleton (no members); teacher/student copy keeps source class memberships by default. See Classes and teachers
Task / assignment / speaking taskSpeaking-practice unit assigned by a teacher; students see it under Speaking → To-do (and home shortcuts). Teacher main nav label is Tasks; CTA is often “Assign speaking task”
Task statusCommon values: to do, in progress, overdue, done; teachers also see published, closed, and more
Tab / main navApp sidebar or bottom navigation label for switching areas

Reports (teacher main nav)Reports page defaults to Class tab. Teachers focus on learning drill-down; class admins share the same three tabs with ops-oriented Class (create/close). See Class reports and Org & class-admin reports
Close classEnd an active class: before closing, choose continue learning (can sign in, usually cannot practice) or left school (account closed) per student. See Classes and teachers
Export / reports (Reports page)Academic reports: template preview and CSV/PDF; entry under Reports → Export / reports (home shortcuts or Me → More also work). See Academic reports
Trends / curve (Reports page)Completion trends (by class / by month); entry under Reports → Trends / curve (home shortcuts or Me → More also work). See Report curve
Stage scoring rulePer-class stage scoring plan (name, time window, practice-only / exam-only / combined, weights, exam aggregate). Must be published before generating scores. See Stage grades
Stage gradeClass transcript from a stage scoring rule (aggregated practice/exam score). Not a single practice score. See Stage grades: rules and generation
Practice score / exam scoreIntermediate stage parts: practice score is usually the average of best task scores; exam score uses max / latest / average; then weighted into the stage grade. See Stage grades
MessagesTeaching message inbox. Students and teachers open it on Me; org and academic admins use a dedicated main-nav Messages page. See Messages and notifications
NotificationsIn-app notifications such as assignment publish and due reminders (bell, etc.); distinct from the Messages inbox. Org/academic admins can also open them on Me. See Messages and notifications
HistoryStudent entry for practice history and saved corrections (UI label: History)
Textbook packRoot of the content tree; after org enablement, teachers can Assign from textbook. Not a platform L0 capability pack
UnitSection under a textbook pack; often shown with the lesson as “Unit · Lesson”
Textbook lessonOne lesson a teacher selects; usually maps to one speaking task (one lesson → one task)
Lesson pageReading page after a textbook task opens; read the handout, then Start speaking practice
Assign from textbookOne teacher assignment mode (vs free scenario pick). See Assign from textbook
Lesson prep overrideTeacher override of handouts for one task; does not rewrite the official textbook pack; teacher owns the save
Practice mode / typee.g. free speaking, scenario practice, voice dialogue, speaking exam (limited by practice policy). See Product guide
ScenarioConcrete topic/situation (e.g. Japanese self-intro); from the platform catalog, org-enabled, chosen by teacher/student
Practice pipelineEval/dialogue chain behind practice (limited by platform capabilities and practice policy). Agents are composed by template—clients do not pick Agents one by one. See Modes · pipelines · scenarios
AgentCapability unit in the speaking chain (dialogue, correction, scoring, pronunciation feedback, reports, etc.). Combined by the practice pipeline; users pick mode/scenario, not individual Agents
Capability packWhat an instance can enable at most; available to students/teachers only after intersecting with org policy. See Platform capability packs
Practice policyOrg admin rules under Settings → Speaking & exams for allowed modes, scenarios, language packs, and self practice. See Org policy

Voice identityChecks whether the speaker matches the enrolled student; formal exams can gate start, practice can spot-check. Students enroll under Settings → Voice identity. See Voice identity
Oral placementOptional short speaking diagnostic from Home; saves a suggested band and certificate-style reference tags to the student profile. Not a formal speaking exam; does not auto-change class difficulty. See Oral placement
Class practice defaultsTeacher prefill for new tasks in a class; overridable per task
Config layers / L0–L3Platform capabilities (L0) → org policy (L1) → teacher task/class defaults (L2) → student prefs (L3); lower layers cannot exceed upper. See Four-layer map
